Although they're a new name in the European hardcore scene, these guys
are no strangers at home in Southern California. Four years of
experience and two full-length albums in the US made Point of
Recognition a household name on the West Coast. They've played more
than 350 shows, with bands like Hatebreed, Poison The Well, Bane,
Eighteen Vision, All Out War and many more.
After several line-up changes POR went into the studio in spring 2002
to record their third album "Day of Defeat" as an unbeatable team. This
record was especially influenced by Tim Mason (guitars) who had only
recently joined the band and plays in bands like No Innocent Victim and
Dodgin' Bullets. Not only he did play the guitar parts, but he was in
charge of the whole recording process!
With "Day of Defeat", POR have taken their music to a new level. They
especially concentrated on their strengths, which already could be
heard on the previous album "Refresh Renew." They are taking a huge
step forward with their new album and have surprised a never-ending
number of critics. This was reason enough for Guideline Records to
secure the European rights for this release. Unfortunately, the band
decided to close this chapter of their lives in 2002. Point of
Recognition (R.I.P.)
